About Amy
The recipes on Simple Pretty Food are inspired by the people and places I love most. Coming from a family of ten, I began cooking to tame mealtime chaos and soon took over full-time. Documenting my best recipes and capturing the process in photos, Simple Pretty Food was born. After spending my first 14 years in Cleveland, Ohio, my family moved to the snowy mountains of Colorado, where I now live and work in a converted horse barn. It’s a special place designed around my lifestyle, where I experiment with new recipes, photograph my creations, feed my family, and make a giant mess in the process. My hope is to inspire a love for food in others and the courage to try something new!

PSF FAQs
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit.
How do you clean cast iron?
I use Staub products which are enamel coated, so I have less issues with sticking. I simply rinse with hot water and use a soft scrubbing sponge if needed. I use lots of oils when cooking which helps with sticking, I also never have to worry about seasoning them.
What do you use to shoot your content?
I shoot IG videos with my iPhone but I use a Canon 5D Mark IV for photos, and I only shoot with natural light.
Where do you shop for ingredients?
I buy from Whole Foods and Kroger, or online at Amazon and Thrive. I always try to link the recipe ingredients with the products so you can see what I use.
How many siblings do you have?
I have 7 siblings…6 brothers and 1 sister. Here we are in order: Creighton, Trevor, Brendan, Tieghan, Malachi, Red, Asher, and Oslo.
Who is Oslo? Olso’s Birth Story
Oslo is my little brother that was adopted at birth. His story is on the blog.
Do I need special degree to be an Author?
Oslo is my little brother that was adopted at birth. His story is on the blog.
What state do you live in? Do you live with your family?
I live in Colorado. My family lives near me on the same property. I have my own house, and the studio is where I cook and photograph content.
Do you use any filters on your photos?
I never use them on my food photos or videos. I like food to look like actual food and hopefully look extra delicious. I love the Tezza app for creating fun edits on other photos and videos.
